LEADING SCORER ZACK ANDRUSIAK RE-SIGNS WITH CYCLONES
The Cyclones announced earlier today that the team has re-signed forward Zack Andrusiak for the 2023-24 season.
Andrusiak, 25, returns for a third year in Cincinnati after having his best season as a pro in 2022-23. The Yorkton, Saskatchewan native led the Cyclones with 32 goals and added 41 assists for a 73-point season, establishing new career highs in all three statistics. He finished tied with Justin Vaive for 12th in goals across the ECHL.
"The teammates I've had in Cincinnati have helped me have a lot of success," said Andrusiak. "The great thing is that you look and see we have a similar team to last years that's coming into this season. I had a good year, but there's always a way to improve; to get better at one or multiple facets of the game. I want to put up points and try to score more, but I also want to round out my style of play to help the team win."
Andrusiak's efforts were rewarded last season with a two-game call-up to the AHL's Manitoba Moose. Over his four-year professional career, Andrusiak has been called up to the AHL twice, skating for Manitoba and Tucson. He's played in 168 ECHL games for Cincinnati, Idaho, and Orlando, scoring 72 goals and posting 168 points.
"Zack is one of the elite goal scorers in this league," said Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Jason Payne. "He seems to always find a way to the sweet spot on the ice for his one-timer, and he has the ability to be a game changer. Zack's scored so many important goals for us at critical times in games. Having his shot back on our team is a huge boost to our depth on offense."
