Brian Foster Recalled to Rochester, Chet Pickard Returns
CINCINNATI, Ohio – The 2010 Kelly Cup Champion Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that goaltender Brian Foster has been recalled by the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League. In a separate transaction, Chet Pickard has been reassigned to the Cyclones from the Milwaukee Admirals.
Foster, a rookie from Pembroke, New Hampshire, will embark on his first-career trip to the Triple-A level. The Florida Panthers fifth round pick in 2005 had played in seven consecutive games for the Cyclones and has amassed a 2.32 goals-against average in 14 overall appearances. His numbers are currently third-best out of any active ECHL goalie with at least ten games played this season. Before turning pro, Foster was a two-year starter at the University of New Hampshire where he compiled a career record of 40-29-13 with a 2.82 goal-against average. Foster will dress with the Americans tonight as they visit the Lake Erie Monsters at 7:00pm from Quicken Loans Arena.
Pickard, the Nashville Predators 2008 first round draft pick, is back with Cincinnati after a brief weekend stay in the American Hockey League – although he didn’t see any action in his latest call-up. With the Cyclones this year, the Winnipeg, Manitoba native has earned a 9-13-3 mark and a 3.22 goal-against average in 27 appearances.
The Cyclones will be on the ice tomorrow morning when they collide with the Kalamazoo Wings in a special 10:30am opening face-off from Wings Stadium.
The defending Kelly Cup Champions will return to U.S. Bank Arena on Friday, March 25 when they host the Toledo Walleye at 7:30pm. It will be the final Kids Eat Free Night of the season, as all fans ages 2-12 will receive a FREE meal courtesy of John Morrell, Sunkist, and Sun Drop. 2010-11 single game and discounted group tickets are available now. 2011-12 season tickets are on sale NOW!
