CYCLONES FALL IN FT. WAYNE
Cincinnati Drops Second of Three-Game Weekend
Ft. Wayne, IN- The Cincinnati Cyclones (33-23-2-0) dropped a 4-1 decision to the Ft. Wayne Komets on Saturday night. Forward Mike Barrett tallied the lone goal for Cincinnati.
The Cyclones only needed 22 seconds to find the scoresheet, when forward Justin Vaive sent a pass from behind the net to Barret in the slot, and he snapped a shot in to put Cincinnati ahead, 1-0.
The Komets stole the momentum back and got three of their own later in the period from forward Marco Roy, and a pair of power play tallies from forward Zac Larazza to take a 3-1 lead after 20 minutes.
Late in the period, Cyclones forward Dominic Zombo was taken to the hospital after blocking a shot. He was responsive and in high spirits, and was released later in the evening.
After a scoreless second, Ft. Wayne added one more in the power play just 15 seconds into the third from Artur Tynanulin to seal their 4-1 win. Cincinnati was outshot, 37-25 on the night, with goaltender Jonas Johansson stopping 33 in the loss. Cincinnati wraps up their three-game weekend on Sunday afternoon in Brampton, ON, against the Beast. Puck drop is scheduled for 2:00pm ET.
