2014-15 Season Preview - January
January will be one of the Cyclones’ busiest months of the season, with a total of 13 games (6 home, 7 away) over the 31 days.
The 2015 calendar year begins with another visit to the Kalamazoo Wings on Friday, January 2. Including the New Years Eve tilt, all four Cyclones trips to Wings Stadium fall in a 16 day period.
After their Friday night match-up with K-Zoo, the ‘Clones will return home for one of the best promotions of the season - Throwback Night! The Cyclones will be dialing back the prices in their game against the Wheeling Nailers, with tickets costing just $10 - along with $1 Hot Dogs, Soda, Pizza, and Beer!
The following weekend, January 9 and 10, will be one spent on the road. They’ll battle the Indy Fuel and Kalamazoo Wings on back-to-back nights.
Cincy will host two Wet Wednesday’s that month, the first coming on January 14 against the Evansville IceMen. In addition to $1 beers, the first 1,000 adults (ages 13+) will take home a special Cyclones T-Shirt!
Just 48 hours later, the club will travel back to Kalamazoo for their final road meeting with the Wings. Then, on Saturday, January 17, Matt Macdonald’s team circles back through Evansville for the first of two-straight road games against their Hoosier State foes; the second game will be a rare Monday night match-up on January 19.
On Friday, January 23, the Cyclones will open up a two-game weekend home stand at U.S. Bank Arena with another Kids Eat FREE Night against the IceMen. One night later (January 24), the Wings return to town for the first-ever “Hockey Buddy Night.” Reminiscent of the classic toy, this special Cyclones keepsake will go to the first 2,000 fans through the gates!
Wednesday, January 28 will feature $1 beers on another Wet Wednesday as the Cyclones meet the Elmira Jackals. In addition, we salute the 25th anniversary of the iconic show, “Seinfeld.” Yada, yada, yada…you’ll wanna be there.
After a Friday match-up in Toledo on January 30, the Cyclones close out the month of January with an amazing day at U.S. Bank Arena. It all starts at 9am with the first-ever “Frozen 5K Run and Walk” to benefit Pink Ribbon Girls! This unique winter 5K takes you on a 3.1 mile course along the Banks of the Ohio River and through Cincinnati's Transit Center underneath second street! Join Twister, our Zamboni driver, and hundreds of other brave souls as we achieve our New Years resolutions and help the Pink Ribbon Girls in the process. Register here, if you haven’t already!
Then, later that night, the Cyclones will host the Reading Royals for Pink in the Rink! The ice will be painted pink and the ‘Clones will be wearing specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off immediately after the game - with proceeds going to Pink Ribbon Girls!
