Taylor Ellington to Replace Shalla in ECHL All-Star Classic
CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators announced today that defenseman Taylor Ellington has been chosen to replace Josh Shalla on the 2013 ECHL All-Star Team.
Although Shalla was chosen to play in the game earlier this month, he is currently in the AHL with the Milwaukee Admirals and will not be able to attend. Ellington, a second round pick of the Vancouver Canucks, currently ranks fourth among all ECHL defensemen in scoring – posting four goals and 16 assists between his time in Cincinnati and Florida. The 24-year-old has put his name on the score sheet in four of his eight games since joining the Cyclones.
The ECHL All-Star Classic will take place next Wednesday, January 23 in Loveland, Colorado.
Cincinnati will continue a swing through the Atlantic Division as they embark on a weekend road trip to Reading and Trenton. Friday night’s game against the Royals can be heard LIVE on the Cyclones Radio Network (FM 100 The FAN, CyclonesHockey.com, America One) beginning at 6:45pm.
The Cyclones will return to the ice at U.S. Bank on Friday, January 25 when they play host to the Evansville IceMen at 7:30pm.
