THIS PAST WEEK:
About Saturday Night in Evansville: The IceMen gained an early advantage and never looked back as they defeated the Cyclones by a 4-1 final score in front of 5,394 at Ford Center. Mike Embach scored the lone goal for Cincinnati in a losing effort.
About Friday Night vs. Kalamazoo: The Cyclones came from behind to win a game for the fifth time this season as they picked up a thrilling 4-3 shootout triumph over the Wings in front of 4,349 at U.S. Bank Arena. The win was their second shootout victory in as many games. John McFarland had his second multi-goal effort in the last week, picking up a pair of tallies and a shootout goal.
About Wednesday Night vs. Evansville: Francois Bouchard’s goal in round three of the shootout proved to be the game-winner as the Cyclones toppled the IceMen by a 3-2 final score in front of 1,641 at U.S. Bank Arena.
SHOTS FROM THE POINT:
Baiting the Gators: After finishing a string of six straight North Division battles, the Cyclones will welcome in the Florida Everblades for a pair of games this week at U.S. Bank Arena. On Wednesday, the teams battle in Downtown Cincinnati for a Wet Wednesday with $1 Beers and an Ugly Sweater Party. Then, on Friday, the teams will meet again on Cyclones SnowGlobe Night! Both contests will begin at 7:30pm.
Southern Comfort: The Cyclones have found great success against their foes from the South Division. In the Jarrod Skalde era, the Cyclones are 23-13-1-2 combined against the Greenville Road Warriors, Gwinnett Gladiators, Florida Everblades, and South Carolina Stingrays. So far this season, the Cyclones are 2-1 against South Division teams.
Three Away From the Record: Cyclones goaltender Brian Foster is just three wins shy of becoming the club's all-time leader in wins. His 38 victories are just two behind Kelly Cup Champion Cedrick Desjardins, who played for the Cyclones for parts of two seasons. Foster is currently second in the ECHL in wins (11).
The Rule Of Three As Important As Ever: Cincinnati has been deadly when they hold their opponent to three goals or less in a game. Being one of the ECHL's top-five defenses, the Cyclones have amassed a 12-0-2 record in such situations.
Coors Light Jarrod Skalde Show TONIGHT: Join Head Coach Jarrod Skalde and Voice of the Cyclones Nick Brunker at Tap House Grill in Kenwood from 7-8pm as they chat about this past week of hockey and look ahead to the trio of games ahead. In addition, Cyclones forward Josh Shalla and defenseman David MacDonald will be on hand to sign autographs and take pictures!
