SINCLAIR EARNS FIRST AHL CALL-UP

SINCLAIR EARNS FIRST AHL CALL-UP

Cyclones goaltender Mark Sinclair has been called-up to the Belleville Senators in the American Hockey League Sunday afternoon. Sinclair is set to join the team ahead of its Sunday evening game in Toronto.

Sinclair, 27, joined the Cyclones at the tail-end of the 2021-22 season, appearing in two games. He was then signed to a try-out contract entering this season's training camp, where he earned a full-time spot on the team. Since then, the rookie out of Michigan Tech has posted 18 wins in 30 games, owning a 2.59 goals against average to go alongside a .918 save percentage.

"We're all happy for Mark to get a well deserved opportunity in the AHL," said Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Jason Payne. "He comes to work every day and is always striving to get better. It doesn't matter if he is starting or backing up that night; you can expect to see him be one of the last players to get off the ice for morning skate. He's been a big contributor for our team's success this season."

Sinclair, a native of Dundas, Ontario, is tied for second in the ECHL with four shutouts this season. His most recent one came on his 27th birthday March 8 in Iowa, where Sinclair became the sixth goaltender in team history to record four shutouts in a single season. His save percentage and goals against average both rank top 10 in the league, and he has won his last 11 decisions in goal for Cincinnati.
