YUSHIROH HIRANO ASSIGNED TO CYCLONES

Forward Yushiroh Hirano has been assigned to the Cyclones from the AHL's Abbotsford Canucks. Hirano will report to Cincinnati and be available starting Wednesday when the Cyclones host Newfoundland at Heritage Bank Center.

Hirano, 27, is back in the ECHL for the first time since his last game with Cincinnati on December 31, 2021. The Tomakomai, Japan native produced 16 goals and 29 points through 25 games with the 'Clones last season, before earning a call-up to Abbotsford. Hirano would finish the season with the AHL-Canucks, posting five goals and 12 points in 30 games.

"We're thrilled to welcome Yushiroh back to Cincinnati," said Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Jason Payne. "This is a player with an NHL-caliber shot and is somebody who presents a threat whenever he's in the attacking zone. We're hoping to help continue his development to get him back to the next level, and we look forward to having him help as we continue to push through the season."

In July, Hirano was signed to a one-year, two-way AHL/ECHL contract with Abbotsford. Because the Canucks do not have an ECHL affiliate, Cincinnati was able to maintain his playing rights, allowing Hirano to be assigned back to the Cyclones. Hirano has appeared in 13 games for Abbotsford this season, collecting two goals and two assists.
