CAIRNS GETS CALLED-UP TO MILWAUKEE
The Cincinnati Cyclones announced today that defenseman Matt Cairns has earned a call-up to the AHL's Milwaukee Admirals.
Cairns, 24, is in the midst of his second professional season, having spent all but two of his 78 pro games in a Cyclones jersey. The Mississauga, Ontario native entered his rookie season on an AHL contract with Rochester and earned a call-up last December, skating in two games with the Americans.
Through 65 games with the Cyclones last season, Cairns collected two goals, 16 points, and led all Cyclones players with a +/- 21. The former Edmonton Oilers draft pick has one assist and 12 penalty minutes through 11 games this year.
Cairns attended Milwaukee's training camp prior to joining the Cyclones in October and will be joining the Admirals ahead of the team's next game on Wednesday against Hartford. The Cyclones return to action this Friday at home for Star Wars Night against the Fort Wayne Komets.
