SPROULE BEGINS PRO JOURNEY WITH CYCLONES
The Cincinnati Cyclones announced today that the team has signed rookie forward Emmett Sproule to a contract ahead of the 2022-23 ECHL season. Sproule has joined the team in training camp and will be available for Cincinnati's exhibition games in Indy this weekend.
Sproule, 21, is coming off a dominant season in the OHL, where he led the Peterborough Petes in scoring with 86 points. He previously spent three seasons with the Erie Otters and logged a total of 252 games in major junior.
"I'm excited," said Sproule. "I've had good talks with Payner (Jason Payne) at Buffalo and Rochester's camps. They've helped with my development and said that this would be a great organization to come to. I try to be an elite, skilled player that can look to make plays and help the team. I think I can excel at this level and hopefully get myself and the team off to a good start this year."
"Emmett is going to be a dynamic player for our forward group," said Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Jason Payne. "I think his talent exceeds his age; he's mature beyond his years. He blossomed in Peterborough to finish his junior career, and now we look to get those same results for him to aid his development as he transitions to being a pro."
