FITZHUGH NAMED TO ALL-STAR BROADCAST CREW
Cyclones Announcer is Third Member of Organization Selected for All-Star Classic
Cincinnati, OH- The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s (NHL) Buffalo Sabres and American Hockey League’s (AHL) Rochester Americans, and in conjunction with the ECHL, have announced that Cincinnati Cyclones Director of Media Relations and Broadcasting Everett Fitzhugh has been named to the broadcast team for the upcoming 2018 CCM/ECHL All-Star Classic. He joins Brian McCormack of the Idaho Steelheads and NHL Network analyst Neil Smith. The game, which will be televised on the NHL Network, is scheduled to take place Monday, January 15, at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis, IN; home of the ECHL’s Indy Fuel.
“It’s extremely humbling to be selected to broadcast the upcoming All-Star Classic,” said Fitzhugh. “I’m honored and excited to have the opportunity to represent the Cyclones organization on a national stage, and am looking forward to working with a pair of true professionals in Brian and Neil.”
Currently in his third season with the Cyclones, Fitzhugh is responsible for all aspects related to media relations, including game day broadcasts, press releases, social, video, and web content, and he is the liaison between the team and local members of the media. This past summer, Fitzhugh was recognized by his peers and received the Award of Excellence for Media Relations from the ECHL.
Prior to his time with the Cyclones, Fitzhugh served as the Director of Media Relations and Broadcasting for the Youngstown Phantoms of the United States Hockey League (USHL) for one season. While there, his responsibilities included game day broadcasts, media relations, social and web content, video features, and community outreach.
A native of Detroit, MI, Fitzhugh got his start calling over 120 hockey games for the Bowling Green State University Falcons. His time with the Falcons saw him start as the color analyst before growing into the play-by-play role. Upon graduation from BGSU, Fitzhugh moved on to accept the Manager of Communications & Director of Social Media position with the USHL league office in Chicago. There, he excelled in providing league communications and content while heading the league's efforts with several notable events such as the USHL Draft and Top Prospects Game.
Fitzhugh joins rookie forward Justin Danforth and equipment manager Chris Burke as members of the Cyclones organization who will represent the team in the All-Star Classic.
