CYCLONES STREAK SNAPPED AS PETERS DAZZLES
Cincinnati Falls Short in Series Finale with Florida
Estero, FL- The Cincinnati Cyclones (6-3-1-0) fell to the Florida Everblades, 1-0, on Saturday evening. The loss snaps the Cyclones’ five-game winning streak.
After the Everblades took a 1-0 lead after the first on the eventual game-winner goal from forward Dave Dziurzynski, the Cyclones faced a barrage of shots in the second period and were outshot, 16-8, in the frame. Cincinnati received some quality scoring opportunities as the period progressed, and Cyclones goaltender Anthony Peters made some spectacular saves to keep Cincinnati’s deficit at 1-0 through 40 minutes.
The third saw the Peters keep Cincinnati in the game with more stellar saves, while the Cyclones peppered the Florida net with shots and Grade A scoring opportunities. Despite the scoring chances, Cincinnati was not able to light the lamp, and the Everblades held on for the 1-0 win.
Peters was near perfect on the night, turning aside 28 of the 29 shots he faced in the loss. Cincinnati returns home on Tuesday morning to take on the Quad City Mallards, Face-off is slated for 10:35am ET.
