CYCLONES SNAP SKID IN IMPRESSIVE FASHION

Ten Players Record Points in Blowout Win

Indianapolis, IN- The Cincinnati Cyclones (8-9-2-0) collected a 5-1 win over the Indy Fuel on Friday night. Forwards Dominic Zombo, Seth Ambroz, Colin Mulvey, Peter LeBlanc, and Tommy Mele netted the goals for Cincinnati, who see their six-game winless skid come to an end.

The Cyclones drew first blood in this one with a little over two minutes to go in the first period as a point shot from defenseman Arvin Atwal was deflected by Zombo past Indy goaltender Jake Hildebrand to give Cincinnati a 1-0 lead.

Exactly two minutes later Ambroz found the back of the net for the first time this season, while shorthanded, when he took possession of a loose puck in the defensive zone and skated down the ice on a 2-on-1 rush, and launched a slapshot from the right circle that beat Hildebrand to extend Cincinnati’s lead to 2-0 after 20 minutes.

After the Fuel cut their deficit to 2-1 on a goal from forward Anthony Beauregard just 1:46 into the second, the Cyclones’ offense went back to work when Mulvey picked off a clearing attempt from Hildebrand and tucked it into the open net to put Cincinnati back up by a pair, 3-1.

That lead became 4-1 at the 7:13 mark of the frame, when a pass from below the goal line from forward Shane Walsh found LeBlanc in front of the net, and he tapped it past Hildebrand for his second goal of the season.

The Cyclones took their 4-1 lead into the locker room after 40 minutes, and in the third Cincinnati put the game out of reach for good at the 13:40 mark when Walsh dished out his second assist of the night to Mele in front of the goal and he fired it into the cage to lift Cincinnati to a 5-1 win.

Goaltender Michael Houser was stellar in goal, turning aside 25 of the 26 shots he faced to collect the win. The Cyclones return home on Saturday night to take on the Missouri Mavericks, as they begin a six-game homestand. Face-off is scheduled for 7:35pm ET.
