Cincinnati Also Adds Two Major Pieces Ahead of Season Opener

 

Cincinnati, OH- The Cincinnati Cyclones, in conjunction with the ECHL, have announced the roster that will begin the 2016-17 season. The roster is comprised of 12 forwards, seven defensemen and three goaltenders.

Forwards: Seth Ambroz, Gabryel Boudreau, Rob De Fulviis, Nick Huard, Peter LeBlanc, Colin Mulvey, Shawn O’Donnell, Eric Robinson, Kenny Ryan, Jordan Sims, Justin Vaive, Dominic Zombo

Defensemen: Arvin Atwal, Craig Dalrymple, Teddy Doherty, Eric Knodel, Saverio Posa, Jaynen Rissling, Troy Vance 

Goaltenders: Steve Racine, Joel Rumpel, Mark Visentin

 

Additionally, Cyclones Head Coach Matt Macdonald has announced that forwards Justin Vaive and Gabryel Boudreau have signed Standard Player Contracts (SPC) for the 2016-17 season. Vaive has had two previous stints in Cincinnati; back in 2011-12, and again in 2012-13, while Boudreau is embarking on his first full pro campaign.

Drafted by Anaheim in the fourth round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Vaive is coming off of a successful campaign with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League (AHL) last season, accounting for 11 goals and 17 assists along with 79 penalty minutes in 63 games played.

His most productive season in terms of points came during the 2014-15 season with the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack, as the Buffalo, NY, native racked up 32 points (14g, 18a) and 94 penalty minutes in 62 games. Overall, Vaive has accounted for 58 points (28g, 30a) in 208 AHL games played between the Sound Tigers, Wolf Pack, and San Antonio Rampage.

Vaive also has 59 games of ECHL service to his credit, including 46 with the Cyclones. He’s amassed 40 points over the course of his AHL career, including eight goals and 14 assists with the Cyclones.

Prior to turning pro in 2011-12, Vaive was a four-year letter winner with the Miami University RedHawks from 2007-11. He helped lead the RedHawks to a Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) Regular Season Championship in 2010, and a CCHA Playoff Championship in 2011. In 160 career games with Miami, Vaive accounted for 23 goals and 23 assists, along with 208 penalty minutes.

Boudreau enters his first full pro season, after appearing in a pair of playoff games for the San Jose Barracuda of the American Hockey League (AHL) in 2016. Prior to turning pro, Boudreau spent three seasons in the Quebec Major Junior League (QMJHL) with Baie-Comeau Drakkar and Chicoutimi Sagueneens, accounting for 182 points (74g, 108a) in 201 career games.
