QUENNEVILLE, WEINSTEIN HEADED TO LAKE ERIE
Duo Amongst Cyclones Offensive Leaders in Recent Weeks
Cincinnati, OH- The Cincinnati Cyclones have announced that forward Peter Quenneville has been recalled by, and defenseman Steve Weinstein has signed a professional tryout (PTO) with the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League (AHL). This is the first call-up of the season for both players.
A seventh round draft pick by the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2013, Quenneville has skated in 25 games with the Cyclones this season, accounting for four goals and 12 assists in that time. The Edmonton, AB, native recorded his first professional goal on November 17, and had a career-high five game point streak (2g, 3a) in late November.
Weinstein heads to the Monsters as the Cyclones’ defensive scoring leader, accounting for three goals and 14 assists through 26 games. He has points in nine of his last 13 games played, tallying a goal and 11 assists in that time. Weinstein has also posted a plus-nine on-ice rating, which is second on the team. A native of Los Angeles, CA, Weinstein spent three games with the Springfield Falcons of the AHL at the end of last season, posting an assist.
The pair will join goaltender Brad Thiessen as players with Cyclones ties currently playing for Lake Erie. Thiessen recorded a 7-3-1-2 record in 14 games with the Cyclones, while posting 2.00 goals-against average, and a .932 save percentage.
