CYCLONES ACQUIRE CONWAY FROM TOLEDO
Fourth Year Pro Marks Cincinnati’s First Goaltending Signing of Offseason
CINCINNATI, OH- The Cincinnati Cyclones have acquired goaltender Neil Conway from the Toledo Walleye, in exchange for future considerations.
“Neil has shown that he is an elite goalie, and we saw his abilities first hand last year,” said Cyclones Head Coach Matt MacDonald. “We are confident that he will do a great job in net for us this season, and has proven he is able to be a standout player and is determined to continue that success here in Cincinnati."
Entering his third ECHL campaign, Conway primarily served as a backup in Toledo, appearing in 20 games a season ago. The Concord, OH, native compiled an 11-7-3 record in those contests, and posted a 2.09 goals-against average along with a .928 save percentage. Conway backstopped the Walleye to three shutouts last season, which is second most in team history for a single season. He continued his hot play in the playoffs, helping Toledo to Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals with a 4-1-1 record, along with a 3.21 GAA, and a .905 SV% in six games played.
Standing at 6’1” and weighing in at 185 pounds, Conway has also seen time with the Elmira Jackals and England’s Nottingham Panthers in 2013-14, and the Central Hockey League’s (CHL) Rapid City Rush and Quad City Mallards in 2012-2013.
