PARROTHEAD NIGHT

Tonight's Matchup: Looking to rebound from a 5-2 defeat last night in Kalamazoo, the Cyclones make their first trip of the year to Evansville, Indiana as they reunite with the IceMen. The Clones have secured wins in three of the first four meetings of the 11-game season series, outscoring their Hoosier State foes by a combined 16-7 margin.

Scouting the IceMen: Al Simms’ club dropped their third straight game last night at the hands of the Fort Wayne and now trails Cincinnati by 10 points in the North Division standings. Brandon Wong, who had a four-point scoring streak halted on Wednesday by the Cyclones, is atop the IceMen leaderboard with 27 points (13g, 14a) in 34 games. And despite a team-worst -18 plus/minus rating, Kale Kerbashian has been a consistent point-getter as well, with 26 tallies (9g, 17a) in 35 contests. Scott Greenham, who suffered the loss against the Clones this week, is now 1-3-0 this year with a 3.27 goals-against average while Chris Driedger is 7-15-1-1 with a 3.54 GAA.

Last Time Out: On the strength of a three-point night from Dane Fox, the Wings defeated the Cyclones by a 5-2 final score in front of 1,969 at Wings Stadium last night. Geoff Irwin and Branden Gracel earned goals for Cincinnati in a losing effort.

Power Down: The Cyclones have consistently improved their penalty-kill numbers of late. They have allowed just two power play goals on their last 22 kill attempts, good for 91%. That’s especially impressive considering they’ve faced two of the top eight power play units in that stretch. Cincinnati has amassed an 82.9% PK efficiency rate this season overall.

Shooting Shutdown: Cincinnati has remained extremely solid in the shots-on-goal department. They rank fourth in the ECHL and second in the Eastern Conference by allowing an average of 27.32 shots per game.
