TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: The Cyclones open a six game road trip tonight as they hope to officially clinch a Kelly Cup Playoff spot with a win against the Trenton Titans. SCOUTING THE TITANS: Vince Williams’ club has collected points in seven of their last ten games but need to play flawlessly down the stretch if they want to play in the postseason. As of today, they’re 11 points out of the eighth and final Kelly Cup Playoff spot. Jacob Cepis has risen to the top of the Titans’ scoring leader board by notching 58 points (18 goals, 40 assists) in 57 games. Andy Bombach has also averaged nearly a point-per-game by posting 46 tallies (21 goals, 25 assists) in 48 contests this season. Former Ohio State Buckeye goaltender Cal Heeter has been reassigned to the Titans from the AHL and has posted a 2-2-0 record this year with a 3.14 goals-against average in five appearance. Brooks Ostergard, who earned Trenton’s last victory last weekend, has gone 3-0 in limited action with a GAA of 2.63.
At Home on the Road: The Cyclones have climbed to the second best road record in the ECHL. They have collected a 19-7-3-1 record away from U.S. Bank Arena, earning 42 points and a 70% winning percentage. Their next six games will be played away from 100 Broadway.
