Cyclones Add Mike Liambas
CINCINNATI, Ohio – The 2010 Kelly Cup Champion Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that they have agreed to terms with forward Mike Liambas.
The 22 year-old left winger joins the Cyclones after playing with the University of British Columbia in CIS earlier this year. While at UBC, the Woodbridge, Ontario native collected nine points (3 goals, 6 assists) and 65 penalty minutes in 24 games. A year ago, he played under Cyclones Head Coach Jarrod Skalde in Bloomington and logged 115 minutes in the “sin-bin” with three assists in 17 games.
Liambis spent his junior career in the Ontario Hockey League with the Erie Otters, earning 13 points (5 goals, 8 assists) and 357 penalty minutes in 124 games. The physical forward ranked in the top five in team penalty minutes in both of his full seasons with the Otters.
He will join the rest of the defending Kelly Cup Champions as they return to U.S. Bank Arena TONIGHT when they host the Toledo Walleye at 7:30pm.
